Short Music Journeys is an adaptation of the Method of Guided Imagery and Music (GIM), a specialised form of Music therapy developed by the late Helen Bonny in the USA. Margareta Warja from Sweden developed the Short Music technique, and has trained Dr. Gina Kaestele to apply and teach the technique. Short Music Journeys involves listening to selected pieces of music while being in a slightly altered state of consciousness. The professional guide supports the client to move into the inner world, focusing on a question, a present life situation or various other themes. The music chosen by the guide, facilitates deep transformation. It is a fascinating journey to support the client to find treasures and to awaken the creative spirit within. An art process (Mandala drawing) and a discussion thereafter completes the process. Topics of the workshop:
Who should attend? This workshop is designed for professionals in the healing field. Psychotherapists, therapists, counsellors, health practitioners, life coaches as well as GIM-fellows who are trained in the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music (GIM). Participants will experience and learn the practical application of the modality of short music journeys, for individuals as well as groups in this upcoming workshop. On completion of the workshop, participants will be able to integrate this modality into their professional work, as a valuable tool. Participants will receive the selected music on a CD.
